Access to the system from outside is not possible. The DAM files are encapsulated. As a result, clients and PIM cannot access the same data.

The clients use a network drive. As soon as an image is requested, the network drive is checked to verify whether the image already exists.

If the image is available, it is synchronized by initially downloading it via HTTP(S) link, updating it or simply outputting it as a path in InDesign.

With the SDZeCOM Cloud Asset Linking for priint:comet, you can collaborate on assets: Change management is guaranteed as all users work on the same file base. Consequently, the module does not only modify the file storage path (cache folder to network drive), but also handles change management.

PIM outputs an HTTP(S) link to the original image. The client loads the image locally on the computer in a cache. The problem is that - if changes have been made in the PIM, or another user has edited and reuploaded the image - changes are not automatically recognized. It is always necessary to download the image again.
