Rules+ | Versioning

With the Rules+ module, you can freeze attributes as the current version with the click of a button.

You can continue to maintain the original attributes.

Procedure

  1. Duplicate all attributes you want to version. These are now your target attributes, which you will no longer maintain but will use, for example, for derivations.

  2. Create an attribute of the “Checkbox” type. It controls whether the fields of the current version are overwritten.

  3. Create a rule that checks whether the checkbox is selected.

  4. For the source attributes, enable the “Save result” option.

  5. Select the corresponding target attribute.

  6. As an optional rule, select the rule that checks whether the checkbox is selected.

You now use the “old” attributes as maintenance attributes.

As soon as you want to overwrite the attributes of the current version, select the checkbox.

After transferring the data to the current version, deselect the checkbox again to avoid accidentally overwriting the current status.

:info:

The target attributes must be text attributes so that they can be described based on the source attributes.

It has proven useful to organize these in a separate tab (e.g., “Current Version”).
